We would like you to be involved with the children’s learning.

Mini Beasts
Our theme for this half term is Mini-beasts.

Here are a few ideas for you to try at home: -

  • Explore your garden or the park to find out where centipedes, snails and beetles hide.
  • Cut out pictures of mini-beasts from magazines and make a collage.
  • Look out for spiders’ webs and their different shapes,
  • Look out for spiders and try counting their legs. Explore the number eight with your children and try sorting objects into groups of 8. For younger children repeat this activity with the number 4.
  • Try turning over a rock in the garden and see many mini beasts are under it.
  • Ask your children to become ‘insect inspectors’ at home. Can they find different bugs from the ones at Nursery?

If your child makes anything at home we would love to see it at Nursery and he/she will have the opportunity to ‘show’ it at circle time.

Please encourage your child to bring something in connected with our topic.
